INTERMEDIATE JEWELRY MAKING WORKSHOPS
Aim: The students who have successfully completed the beginners’ workshops are invited to further their knowledge of jewelry making. From the beginners’ skills in earrings, necklaces and bracelets, Janice will initiate students into more challenging techniques with more intricate patterns of jewelry pieces. They work with new materials and learn how to combine techniques to create more difficult designs.
The overall expertise of the student will be enhanced allowing him or her to independently create jewelry designs. Therefore an important part of this intermediate course is the emphasis on design.
Since the basic skills have been mastered at this stage, the question of design is of paramount importance:
• What type of stone will best suit what type of design or style of jewelry?
• Which colour combinations accentuate a certain style?
• How can contrasting colours and different types of stone give a typical effect?
Duration: 6 workshops – meeting once a week - 2 hour per workshop
Medium of Instruction: English
Students also take their completed work of jewelry home.
