KIDS JEWELRY MAKING WORKSHOPS

Aim: Taught by one of Janice’s apprentice, it is designed to help inspire creativity and artistic talent in kids through handcrafted jewelry. Kids age 8 and up are taught basic skills in putting together necklaces, bracelets, earrings and hair accessories. From penmanship to tying a shoelace, hand-eye coordination is a highly important skill. It's something a child will use every single day for the rest of his or her life. Sorting and stringing beads into a piece of jewelry are not just fun but requires kids to synchronize vision, touch, movement, and cognition — quite a complex feat! All children (and not just girls) can benefit from a coordination-building course such as jewelry making. Best of all the kids go home with their completed piece of jewelry at the end of the workshop which is the proudest moment of the day for them.

Duration: 5 workshops – meeting once a week – 1.5 hours per workshop

Medium of Instruction: English and Chinese
